Not only is the gift idea above fun, but it can be a great way to introduce more fresh foods into your Guinea Pigs diet. I wrote a Guinea Pig Care series which were posts #’s 63, 65 & 68 & in these posts you will find a lot of information to help keep your Guinea Pig(s) healthy & happy, including the best foods to feed them.

Guinea Pigs enjoy being under or inside huts & tunnels so I wanted to include these adorable tunnels, but there are a variety of types out there, from wood, plastic to cloth. Be sure your Guinea Pig is monitored when you give them a new item made of cloth. You want to be sure they won’t chew & ingest it & risk an obstruction. This might be a playpen area toy for some, so you can watch & interact with them.

Items that are made from natural things as nice, because many guinea pigs enjoy chewing on things. When baby Guinea Pigs were born to a foster Guinea Pig, I was shocked that about 30 mins after being birthed a Guinea Pig baby was already chewing on an igloo in the cage. So chew items are great to have for them in their cages & play area.

Speaking of a play area, this is a great gift idea for the special Guinea Pig in your life.

Maybe your Guinea Pig is in need of a new hay ball, this is a nice alternative to a hay basket & the Guinea Pigs may find spinning the ball fun as well. If you don’t have room in their cage for this, maybe for their free time pen area. Every Guinea Pig should have 1-4 hours a day of time out of their cage if they live in a traditional cage bought in a store. If you read my posts on Guinea Pig care you will find that most store bought cages are not big enough for a Guinea Pig. So open pen area cages didn’t use to be sold, you had to make them, but Amazon sells quite a few now, of course you can make one. You can find more information about these on my posts on Guinea Pig Care.

More toys for your Guinea Pigs to chew & play with. We all like fun gifts, but as we get older things we need or that are practical are appreciated gifts as well.
I hope as the Holidays approach this has given you some ideas of items for your Guinea Pigs or maybe your grand Guinea Pig.
