#54. He Crossed the Rainbow Bridge Today

I am grieving today, my handsome little Canary named Woodstock crossed the rainbow bridge today. It was quite a surprise as he was young. He hatched out Nov 17th 2021 & I got him for myself for my birthday in early March of 2023 at a bird fair. His passing was a shock even though I noticed he wasn’t singing like he use to, but he was eating, even ate some of his fresh food this AM. When I went to take his fresh food out this AM he was perching but didn’t look stable. I went & grabbed a small carrier cage to use as a hospital cage & a heating pad, & set it up. When I picked him up to put in the carrier & he breathed his last in my hand. I will bury him & after I grieve for a bit I will find another canary to share my life with. I love to hear them sing & they are very cute little delicate birds.

If you have ever lost a beloved pet you understand the loss I feel. I have been a lifetime pet lover & always will have pets in my life. A canary is one bird I can’t imagine living without for very long, the singing is so nice(but he was loud for such a tiny bird). I will always have a dog as long as I can also. The sad part is that they are never part of our lives as long as we want. They may leave this earth, but they will always have a place in our hearts.

Goodbye to my adorable little birdie Woodstock, you will be missed.

Debbie
